Yucko the Clown’s Insult-O-Matic app rejected from the iPhone store
Here we go again. After the success of the Rack Em Willie app, we decided to develop a Yucko the Clown app.
Apple has a 17+ rating now, but to be safe we did two versions of the app. We did a PG 13 version where the worst you’ll hear is an occasional S Bomb and a R Rated version where F Bombs fly out as often as they would if you were in the room with the real Yucko.
We thought it would be a good idea to submit the PG 13 version, get it approved then try to sneak in the cruder stuff in an update.
Today we received this email:
“Thank you for submitting Yucko the Clown’s Insult-O-Matic to the App Store. We’ve reviewed Yucko the Clown’s Insult-O-Matic and determined that we cannot post this version of your iPhone application to the App Store because it contains objectionable content and is in violation of Section 3.3.14 from the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement”
Our question to Apple is: Why do you even bother having a 17+ section? If it’s Apple’s plan to hold developers to G Rated standards just do that and be upfront with it.
We’ll keep you updated on the future of the Yucko App.
